What Distinguishes a Wake from a Memorial?

Traditionally, a wake is a gathering of family and friends held during a memorial, followed by a burial. Mass is celebrated by a priest for Catholics, food and drinks are shared to honor the life of the departed, toast to their memory, and share stories. In contrast, a traditional memorial service is often structured like a memorial, but without the presence of a coffin.

At Beyond, we believe that combining the memorial service and wake into one celebration is a beautiful, modern way to honor and remember your loved one. How is the Cremation Process with Beyond?

When you inform us of a passing, we will arrange to bring your loved one into our care, typically within two hours, unless you prefer a little more time to say your goodbyes. This is part of the Filipino value of ensuring the family has space to grieve in their own way.

We will then proceed with the cremation at a trusted local crematorium. This process includes handling all necessary paperwork, such as the official death certificate. After the eco-friendly cremation, we will personally deliver the ashes to your family, ensuring that this final step is handled with the utmost respect.
